The Real World Guide to Concord Pacific Place

David Lam Park
It's ten acres of superb city park loaded with some of the finest recreational facilities Vancouver has to offer. Stop and smell the roses in the David Lam Floral Garden, then walk to the nearby Lookout for a quiet moment on a park bench. Meet friends for a quick game of tennis at one of the new waterfront courts, or watch the basketball and roller hockey action in the adjacent sports courts.

Dragon Boats
False Creek is alive with a rare breed of sleek dragons. You can catch sight of them cutting through the calm waters of False Creek from Science World to English Bay. These dragons are manned with determined teams, training for the Alcan Canadian International Dragon Boat Festival held each June. To find out more about dragon boats, or to sign up your own team for next year's race, call the Race Registrar at 604-688-2382.

Roundhouse Community Center
The historic Roundhouse is the cultural, community and recreational hub for Concord Pacific Place. Something is always going on: work out in a dance class (jazz, mambo or salsa), sign up for yoga, karate, Tai Chi or Chi Kung, or throw some pottery. Brush up on your second languages, enroll in arts courses or go on-line at the new UBC Multimedia Lab. In the evening stroll over for some exciting visual and performing arts events.

Urban Fare
This supermarket has a sophisticated urban sensibility perfectly tailored to your city lifestyle. Try out some exciting new services that round out the store's celebrated food selection, restaurant, and coffee and pasta bars.Phone Urban Fare to place your shopping order from the Home Delivery Product Catalogue (call 604-435-SHOP), or to find out about their private catering and menu planning services for that all-important weekend event. image: urban fare interior

Aquabus
Only in Vancouver could bobbing little ferries become part of the city's public transportation system. Aquabus is the mass transit of choice for Concord Pacific Place and False Creek. Hop the ferry at the foot of Davie for lunch and some specialty shopping at Granville Island, catch the latest IMAX movie at Science World, or just spend the afternoon on the water watching the ebb and flow of nautical traffic. Call 604--689-5858 for ferry schedules.

Seawalk

Concord Pacific's winding waterside promenade is an exceptional part of the city's envied lifestyle. People are out on the seawalk, strolling, jogging, cycling, blading, meeting with friends and taking in the incredible city and water views. Visit the pavilion celebrating high tide, hop down to the cobble beaches and get your feet wet, take a break under canopied gazebos, catch volleyball  at the Urban Beach, or just relax on a bench and watch the yachts come and go at Quayside Marina.

La Terrazza
Chef Gennaro Iorio just came back from Italy with some Tuscan inspirations for his new menu. The restaurant also has a private dining room with its own wine cellar, another reason why La Terrazza's wine list has been declared on of the city's biggest and best. For serious foodies, Iorio will come right into your home and prepare a culinary masterpiece for dinner parties. For reservations call 604-899-4449.
