Giving a seat to deserving groups. As a service to the community, Concord Pacific donates a portion of its seating at major sports events to deserving groups and individuals. The donation includes use of the company's corporate box for hockey and basketball games at GM Place, as well as seating at BC Place Stadium for BC Lions games. When members of the Kivan Boys' and Girls' Club attended a Vancouver Canucks' home game, it was an experience to remember, according to the club's Senior Program Coordinator. "Due to the socio-economic backgrounds of many club members' families, opportunities for our kids to attend NHL games rarely occur," said Paul S. Henderson. "For them to not only attend but to sit in a corporate box was a thrill they will cherish for years to come."

Official opening of seawalk extension
Officially opened in late June, the newest portion of the Concord Pacific Place seawalk is an important link in a chain which will ultimately connect many of Vancouver's major waterfront areas. Long-term plans call for the half-kilometre section to link up with seawalls serving Stanley Park, Science World, the south shore of False Creek and Kitsilano.
The new section includes a broad pedestrian walk separated from rollerbladers and cyclists by landscaping, lighting and other features. Extending from David Lam Park to the foot of Davie Street, it has drawn generous praise from civic officials.
"This magnificent seawall is a good example of the public benefits that the people of Vancouver gain as a result of Concord Pacific's investment in the north shore of False Creek," said Vancouver City Councillor Gordon Price. He added that public amenities such as these enhance the livability of the downtown community. At the official opening of the new seawalk extension (l. to r.): Alan Fetherstonhaugh, Vice Chair of the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation; Gordon Price, City of Vancouver Councillor; Henry Man, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Concord Pacific.

Recognizing the contribution of George Wainborn
To officially recognize the matchless contribution of George Wainborn, who for 33 years served as a Vancouver Park Commissioner, a sign was erected by Concord Pacific at the site of the future George Wainborn Park. His record of service will be commemorated by the creation of a major new waterfront park, expected to be built in the next 4 -- 5 years, at the western end of Concord Pacific Place.
George Wainborn Park will be situated at the foot of Richards Street. Its 6.15 acres will include a large water feature, as well as formal planted gardens, trees, pathways, seating areas and a large open field. Less activity-oriented than other Concord Pacific Place parks, it is designed for scenic enjoyment, picnics and other relaxing pursuits.
At the site of the park that will bear his name: George Wainborn and City of Vancouver Councillor Nancy A. Chiavario.S
