Founding Dragon Boat Festival sponsor, Concord Pacific, donates $1 million to paddling centre on east False Creek

The City and North America’s largest dragon boat community appreciate Concord’s commitment to dragon boating in Vancouver

Thousands of dragon boaters who ply the waters of False Creek each year are enthusiastically greeting news of a $1 million donation toward a new paddling centre. Concord Pacific, long-time supporter of the Festival and the sport of dragon boating, today presented Mayor Gregor Robertson and the City of Vancouver with the million-dollar cheque.

Mayor Gregor Robertson said “This million dollar contribution by Concord to the creation of a new paddling centre is a big boost for Vancouver’s dragon boat community, and makes False Creek an even more desirable neighbourhood to live in. Concord has been a long-time supporter of dragon boating, along with several city-wide events and charities, and their contribution is a great example of how new development can create real benefits for local neighbourhoods.”
