Brentwood community and gifted to the city in 2028
Burnaby, B.C. (April 30, 2026): Concord Pacific and Burnaby Mayor Mike Hurley today announced new
plans and the start of construction for the City of Burnaby’s first major new community park in more than
20 years to serve the generations of families already living nearby.
Dawson Park will be built by Concord Pacific and gifted to the City of Burnaby upon completion scheduled
for the summer of 2028. It will be the size of five city blocks and situated along Dawson Street in Burnaby
across the street from Oasis, the latest phase of the Concord Brentwood master-planned community. Concord Pacific is already the largest private provider of parks in Vancouver and the delivery of this new park will make them the largest private provider of urban parks in Canada.
Terry Hui, Concord Pacific President and CEO said, “The delivery of Dawson Park continues our 30-year
tradition of creating parks and amenities for the cities where we build. With the handover of Dawson Park,
the total parkland developed by Concord Pacific across the country will exceed 70 acres—more than half
the size of Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver.” (Read more…)
